Foreign direct investment (FDI) is the main driving force for regional and world economic development in the era of economic globalization. Thailand has long been related to foreign direct investment. The government regards foreign direct investment as an important project and establishes investment institutions in order to introduce and promote foreign direct investment. Since the first edition of the Economic and Social Development Plan in 1960, Thailand has introduced more and more foreign direct investment. The United States, Japan, China, and European countries have poured into Thailand from all over the world, so Thailand has become the host country. However, due to the imbalance of geographical location, natural environment and social and economic development level in Thailand, the investment environment of the country has different advantages and disadvantages, and the attraction of foreign direct investment is also uneven, which leads to dynamic changes in the regional spatial pattern of foreign direct investment in Thailand. Therefore, it is particularly important to study the spatial distribution characteristics of FDI in Thailand, especially to provide reference for the location selection of FDI in Thailand from neighboring countries.
